Broadway’s Aladdin celebrates 5th anniversary with performance from past and present Genies

On Sunday, five Former and Current Genies took on the stage for a magical medley after the matinee performance of the hit Broadway musical Aladdin in the New Amsterdam Theatre in Nyc.

The particular performance including Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart, present star Michael James Scott, tour Genie Major Attaway, and present Broadway Genie standbys Juwan Crawley and Deonte L. Warren celebrated the musical fifth anniversary on the Broadway stage and paid tribute to the series’s most iconic tunes, end with the timeless”Friend Like Me”

Iglehart got things moving, asking his fellow genies,”Would you mind if I start off this thing ” Another genies all provided a resounding”You are the Tony winner!” By means of approval. The men then conducted through a few of the greatest moments in the musical like,”Proud of Your Boy” and”A Whole New World” and Crawley took a twist as Jasmine hitting the high notes in”These Palace Walls.”

According to the 1992 Disney animated film, Aladdin landed his magical rug on Broadway in 2014 using a publication by Chad Beguelin, songs by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Beguelin. In addition to using tunes from the first film, the point show adds fresh first tracks and resurrects a few which were composed for the film but not utilized.
